Artist: HERITECH
Album: Xenopathic Biocide
Year: 2007
Heritech is one of the many bands I got to know since we
opened a MySpace profile and bands managed to find us
over there. At that time, they only had one song online
(which happens to be not found on this very demo! hehe)
which already surprised me in quite a positive way. The
music was not pure industrial metal (there was not much
metal in it anyway) but you could clearly hear the
industrial metal influences they had so we decided to
give them space on the page anyway. Nowadays, they just
released their Xenopathic Biocide demo, and we reserved
some space for a review of this baby too.
After the intro, the demo kicks off with ´Grandiose
Grotesqueries´. This is a very dark and atmospheric song,
with various wellfitting vocal works (clean vocals,
black metal vocals and deep grunts). The main beat is
one that mesmerizes from the beginning until the end.
‘Deathscape Dataclash’ is a more noisy track. The beat
is danceable, the sampling has a schizophrenic attitude
(just like the vocals) and the guitar sampling is
wellfitting. ‘Xenopathic Biocide’ is the title track of
this album. This one is a more atmospheric track, with
ambient likely sampling and heavy distorted guitars.
‘Osmotic Epidemic’ is clearly the most brutal track of
the album, with devastating beats and killer vocal
works. The atmospheric intermezzos are wellplaced, and
are buiding up to the noisy parts nicely. The demo ends
with a classical influenced outro.
In the end, I dare to say that this demo has became a
truely positive surprise to me, and I can clearly hear
improvements when I compare this to the one and only
track they had online when I got to know this project.
Fans of electronic stuff like Feindflug and Tamtrum will
really like this shit, and also fans of industrial metal
acts like No Forgiveness, Herrschaft and Division Alpha
will probably agree with me. Impressive!
