In 2005, pushed by its want to denounce a society loosing the sense of itself and its dignity, Ivo Di Marco gave up as a drummer and decided to dedicate his time to a personal project, playing guitar, he conceives Them Philosophy. Elisa D’Andrea joins the band soon, becoming the scratching voice as well as the image that characterizes the band. Giovanni Cecoli earns the place behind the “skins”. The band is full with the arrive of Claudio Angelucci, a young bass player living the most of the time in his own world (and that’s not always wrong…). Thanks to a repertory already almost completed from the same Ivo Di Marco, Them Philosophy begins soon their intense route in the roman underground, playing in the best venues of Rome such as Hard Rock Cafč, Traffic, Jailbreak, Alkatraz, Circolo Degli Artisti, Init etc... The band went on with his live activity until December 2006, when Carlo Bellotti, leader of Alkemist-Fanatix Europe, signed Them Philosophy and gave them the possibility to record their own debut album.On May 2007, Them Philosophy begun the recording of “Thought Before Action” at Zeta Factory(Bologna), produced by Leonardo Magnolfi and released on January 2008 under UK Division. After the recording the band breaks off with Giovanni Cecoli. The choice for the new drummer lead Alessando "Lex" Ceccacci into Them Philosophy, revealing him as more interested in a technician/creative research on his instrument, being “inspired” by names as Jeff Porcaro, Matt "Spug" Mc Donough, Joey Jordison, Danny Carey, Tommy Lee, etc... This formation went forward into the promotion of "Thought Before Action", although working on new pieces. In May 2008 the band toured europe with Christian Death, the legend of american goth, playing in venues such Progresja (Warsaw), Boogaloo (Zagreb), Slimelight(London), A38(Budapest) and many more. When Alessandro left the band because of musical divergences, the band had at its back a tour and many opening acts to bands like ZU and Diaframma. Since it’s never easy to find the right one, the band thought that Michael Masci finally was what they were searching for, and this line-up the band continued the promotion, with the collaboration of Kick Agency(www.kickagency.com) and Virus Concerti, playing with Linea77 and Dufresne. But he wasn’t, and in July 2009 the band opened again the researches for a drummer. His name will be revealed in September.
