The beginnings of ZS Concept were formed by D G at his University, while playing in a variety of bands at school as well as working in College Radio. Keyboards, guitars and drum machines were used to make the first recordings on a 4track. Early music was atmospheric with darkwave influences. Over time, the sound has become more diverse with greater experimentation and newer technology. The music evolved using elements of goth, metal, industrial, trance, classical and ambient. As the years progressed, S M joined this partnership as a singer, artist, muse and spouse. S M's education was in art and it's her creativity that has expanded the soundscapes that make ZS Concept. One side of this vision is to create dark aggressive and metal-edged noise while the other side is to compose soothing neo-classical introspective pieces. It's this dynamic that coexists between these divergent musical styles that energizes the whole musical and visual experience. The inspiration of the music and the lyrics come from current and past experiences. The source of these accounts are derived from art that we have created, photos that we have taken, prose that we have written and music that we have composed. Often it's the negative and positive energies that generates this synergy of imagination. Reflections and observations of loves lost, disappointments, anger, frustration with those of hope and optimism help stimulate this whole process. Our youth has helped develop to what we are now. D G was born in Brazil, and emigrated from Holland to America when he was young. He was raised by Dutch parents, who allowed him to let his creativity grow in music and photography. S M was born in America, but lived her younger years in Thailand and Nigeria. Her parents encouraged her creativity in art, crafts and similiar endeavors. This common thread of international exposure and imagination bonds our art together.
